| There
has never been a better time or need to join with colleagues in
representing physicians in Snohomish County and Washington State
than by joining the Snohomish County Medical Society (SCMS) and
the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA). The
SCMS is a unified county medical society. This means that in order
to belong to SCMS, membership is required in the WSMA, and vice
versa. The bylaws of both organizations support this condition
of membership. Because the SCMS provides physician referrals,
a membership application is required and is subject to approval
by the SCMS Board of Trustees.
The
SCMS and the WSMA offer a variety of benefits and services to
it members. From looking out for physicians at the state legislature
and the US Congress, to educating the news media and general public
on health care, the WSMA and SCMS are regularly assisting and
working for physicians.
To
become a member in SCMS and WSMA, simply complete the membership
application and return it to the Snohomish County Medical
Society, 2033 Sixth Avenue, Suite 1100, Seattle, WA 98121. With
your application, please provide a copy of your Washington State
License. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact
the SCMS office at 1-800-532-4139, or via e-mail addressed to
JAL@wsma.org. |
